Infiniti was created in 1989, being considered as the premium brand of Nissan. Infiniti was born when Nissan made the decision to create its own brand with which to provide its customers with products of higher quality and completely renewed. It was born above all as a brand focused on the American market, but over time , exactly in 2008, it took a great global leap, extending to places like Spain, where I created an own network of dealers.
The Infiniti range is mainly focused on all-roads, coupes, saloons and crossover, always differentiated in equipment, technology and performance of the rest of Nissan vehicles. So the creation of this brand was not based on improving existing models and increasing their price, but what they intended was to create from scratch those vehicles trying to reach the level of American and European premium manufacturers already established in the US market.
The first vehicles of this brand were the Infiniti Q45 and the Infitini M30. The Infiniti Q45 was primarily focused on the American market, a high-end sedan with rear-wheel drive equipped with a 4.5-liter V8 engine. The concept of this car was very similar to the first Lexus car, the LS 400. On the other hand, the Infiniti M30 (between 1990 and 1992 the M30 remained on the market and was later discontinued by Nissan) , had a V6 engine that provided 162 horsepower. But despite that great engine, the Infiniti M30 stood out above all for its luxurious finishes which were its main tool in terms of sales.
During the 90s, the Infiniti brand launched different vehicles, among which stand out: the Infiniti J30 (coupe with V6 engine of 3.0 liters), Infiniti G20 (which was based on the Nissan Primera Europeo), or the Infiniti QX4 (high-end all-way based on the well-known Nissan Pathfinder). Of this last model we can highlight that Infiniti was the first brand to offer a premium todocamino as we know it today, anticipating several years even the BMW X5.
Already in the years 2000 he began to take out several of his most iconic models, such as the Infiniti FX (all-way sporty look with a very peculiar design, can be defined as aggressive), or the infiniti G35, whose coupe version was sold as Nissan Skyline in the Japanese market. The infiniti G35 is vitally important because it was thanks to it that the Infiniti market recovered after its relapse in sales level, as they understood that they had to create an impactful vehicle model to achieve financial growth.
After gradually recovering, the brand released more successful models and continued to expand into the global automotive market.
Almost all Infiniti brand vehicles were based on existing Nissan models, but the big difference was that their designs were much more luxurious than those of Nissan and, also, in that their equipment was much more advanced.
The Japanese brand is one of the most innovative in the field of hybrid vehicle models (a clear example is the Infiniti M35h). In addition, today the brand is also very focused on the development of plug-in and electric hybrids.
Today, Infiniti continues to develop and create new generations of luxury sedans and crossovers.
